Flower Box

+++ News from Urban Moose +++

My hubby and I were more excited than usual for the weekend to come. We drive to the nearby village every Saturday to visit our favourite cafĂ© to eat and relax there, do the weekly shopping and pop into the magazine shop which has got all my favourite papercraft mags. I picked up a few copies of the latest Papercraft Essentials issue today to send to our family as my first feature was published.

We made a detour to Long Crendon for a stop at my local craft shop where a crafting class was in full swing. I could spend hours there, browsing the little shop and watching other crafters make cards, if only my hubby wasn't waiting so patiently in the car. It is such a contrast to my busy work week in London. I like to think that escaping into my crafty little world every weekend helps me keep sane.

It was our neighbour's birthday last week and she has just returned from holidays with her husband, so I made her this card yesterday from whatever I could find in my stash. I usually don't make flowers, but Jackie had such beautiful ones growing in their garden last summer that I thought she might like it. I die cut scalloped circles, then inked the edges and cut into them. Et voilĂ ...

You can create a 3D effect with the flowers if you bend the cut sections of the scalloped circles:

I like adding bows and using a bow maker is the easiest way. There are lots of youtube videos on how to make a bow like this. I added a button before making a knot in the back:

It's time to get crafting again, still two boxes to make for January celebrations.

Happy crafting!
