New idea with acetate

+++ News from Urban Moose +++

Okay, I have to give credit for this idea to designer Sue Hughes who made some colourful New Year cards for Papercraft Essentials Issue 114 including this design with acetate (minus the shaker):

I wanted to use the cute Bentley Bear stamps that came free with Cardmaking & Papercraft Issue 139 and figured they were the perfect size for making shakers. Both base cards measure 14.5x11.5 cm and I simply removed a 3 cm strip at the bottom of the card and replaced it with a piece of acetate that measures about 6x11.5 cm. On second thought, it might be better to place a much bigger acetate sheet behind  so it covers the whole area which makes the card less wobbly. Because my cards turned out a little wobbly and I added extra weight with the shakers, I glued a scored piece of cardstock inside the card as also shown on my Christmas Penguin card.

I'm not a colouring pro with alcohol markers, so I used coloured pencils and then paper pieced the rest of the image.

I'm working on some cute Valentines boxes now. It's the first time I make cards for this occasion. How lovely would it be to receive a card this Valentines from someone dear saying that he or she thinks about you?
