Home is where the heart is

Here is another exploding box that I made yesterday after spotting the fab free craft papers in this month's issue of Making Cards. Just couldn't resist the cute characters!

We are friends with a couple who are now moving from Belgium to England. Probably not the best time of the year, if you ask me, it's raining cats and dogs! Moving can be such a daunting experience and it's even more challenging if you move from one country to another. How nice would it be to make someone feel welcome in their new home? So I popped into a baby clothing shop yesterday to buy a gift for their little girl which surely she will need in this kind of weather: A cute umbrella!

I also picked up the Making Cards magazine and started crafting right away. The cat with the flower pots looked like it would just suit the occasion. Although it's hard to see on the pictures, the circle is a shaker with white sequins inside! I wasn't sure how many sequins could go in there without hiding the sentiment, so these are just a few. The shaker is held in place with a support I made with acetate strips, same as shown on the Exploding Box with the balloon panda. The image was mounted on the shaker with foam pads. I need to give credit to my friend Diane and her idea of making a fence by simply cutting strips of white cardstock. I used a new stamp set from Kaisercraft and made my own sentiment by using words from different stamps.

Here is my card:
