Flamingo Sunshine Shaker

|

There was a time when I used the magazines' free gifts to make cards. Mostly that's stamps and I'm not much of a stamper, but sometimes you do get something that you really fancy.

This month's Papercraft Essentials comes with a flamingo die which I think is one of the best free gifts so far. Designer Jo Kill made some really stunning cards with it. You can also download free papers on Papercraft Magazines to match the tropical theme.

When I started this shaker, I'd wanted to use the complete die cutting set called "Sunshine Layers" from WPlus9 Design Studio, including the rainbow. It's my favourite set at the moment because of the scalloped frame which I used in so many designs. It quickly turned into this bright shaker when I looked at the flamingo die and thought how perfectly it would fit into the corner. What do you think?

I spent the day at Crafting at Ally Pally yesterday. When I came home, a copy of the latest Cardmaking & Papercraft was waiting for me. I sat down in the evening to think what I could make with the free stamps and worked on it all night. Only finished two cards as it was a lot of trial and error, but you'll soon see why.

Curious?
